We are all immigrants from somewhere, but we were admitted into this country at a pace that allowed for assimilation before allowing more immigrants to enter. All immigrants were required to have sponsors that would guarantee to cover financial needs and debts of the newcomer. We passed physicals so as not to risk the health of those that were already here. There was a process, and we followed it legally. The situations we came from were as dire, if not more, then what many are claiming to be coming from today.
If people abide by and respect our laws to come here, they are the types of immigrants who will be more likely to respect the rest of our laws once they are here.
Birthing a child here does not cut it. Children are citizens of their parent's nation, not the other way around. We definitely should not break up families. If a child is born here of illegal aliens, the child must leave with the rest of the family. If we consider the child a dual citizen, the the child may return here at the age of 18 when he or she is capable of being self sufficient.
Former Govenor Mike Huckabee has a promising plan that needs to be taken seriously by our government. Virtual Deportation. While I am not sure of all the details, it is supposed to be a way to offer illegals a path to citizenship. They must register, pay a fine, receive a number, and then be placed at the back of the line. If an illegal can not produce the number when their citizenship is questioned, they will then be physically deported for not following our laws again. This plan will allow the government to focus on deporting felons first while allowing others to prove their seriousness about becoming citizens.
As fences make for the best neighbors so do borders for countries.
Is our government incapable of handling this problem or do they just not want to?
I say to the liberal-elite-control-freaks and crony capitalists that are pressing for a one world government, if you can't get the small stuff right how are you going to get the big stuff right? Leave us alone, leave people where they belong. Bringing people here for votes benefits no one but the pocketbooks of those underlined above.
