Why did the government bother giving us each a Social Security Number?

Why did the Government bother giving each of us a Social Security Number if they weren't going to keep track of the money we paid in? Logic would tell you the number would keep track of all your money, so it could be given back to you some day?

I guess the number was supposed to add some type of credibility to the process of stealing our money, so it wouldn’t just look like the slush fund it is.

Why did the Government have to handle our retirement funds in the first place? Did they think we were too stupid not to prepare for our own retirements; that we were not self disciplined enough to put away our own money each week for our retirement?  Well, I guess that is true for a certain percentage of the population, but boy did the Government screw it up for everyone.   Once again the majority suffers for the inadequacies of the few.

All the money the government has taken from us through the years could have made our retirement funds super spectacular if they were collecting interest in personal retirement accounts.

Now they say Social Security is running out.  I wonder why?  Where did my money go?  It should still be saved under my SS number right?

Is the government robbing our years of payments into SS to pay for illegal immigrant entitlements that have not been paid for by illegals?

Entitlement means you have been given a right to something.  No one should be given the right to our money without our permission.  That is stealing.

I’ll gladly give money to the government to share in the expense of our national defense and our interstate highway systems because I would like to be free to see our country, but the buck stops there.

If the government didn’t take so much of my money, I could afford to donate more to my fellow citizens that I know are in need rather than other nations the Government feels are more important or needy.

What are we really free to do in this country anymore?
